On Saturday, April 22nd at 2:00pm, Tandy Beal & Company presents the final concert in this year’s ArtSmart Family Concert Series: The Magic Carpet - World Rhythms. Get ready for a fun ride as we travel around the globe and get a sneak peek of dance, music and culture from around the world!
On this year’s Magic Carpet tour, kids and adults will see and hear the amazing footwork and colorful flowing skirts from Jalisco, Mexico with Corazon en Flor, a cacophony of Japanese drums from Watsonville Taiko Ensemble, and the intricate footwork and palmas of flamenco performed by Marianna Mejia of Flamenco Romantico. Be drawn into the ancient spiritual realm of Hawaiian hula with a special presentation of hula ipu heke (ancient double gourd drum) performed by Kuhai Halau O Mehana Pa ‘Olapa Kahiko and get into the rhythm of maculele with Roots of Brazil!
