Mello Center Field Trips - Overview

Every year, Tandy Beal & Company presents award-winning artists in music, circus and dance at the gracious Mello Center in Watsonville, CA. Because of the size and proximity of the theater, these concerts make an easy and outstanding field trip for neighborhood schools. With 750 seats, the theater can easily accommodate a school-wide field trip. Children receive a theater-going experience with highly acclaimed artists. Past artists have included: Micha Scott Dances!, SoVoSo, Linda TIllery, Keith Terry and more!    

Tandy Beal & Company provides pre-concert materials and study guides to help you prepare your students and integrate arts learning with your curriculum. Each concert has elements of interactivity for maximum student engagement.

Mello Center Field Trips - Tickets & Pricing

COST: Thanks to our donors, we can offer Santa Cruz County schools $2 tickets for our shows at the Mello Center.  *We encourage you to apply for a SPECTRA matching grant to assist with the program costs during the summer. Applications are due in Sept. each year, and can substantially reduce the cost of the field trip for your school.  SPECTRA matching grants for 2018-19 have already been awarded.

We recommend that you bring your students to more than one show so they can experience a variety of the arts. Early reservations are highly recommended as tickets are first come, first served.

ArtSmart In-School Assemblies

Professional award-winning Bay Area artists perform at your school!  Each concert has elements of interactivity for maximum student engagement. Tandy Beal & Company also provides pre-concert materials and study guides to help you prepare your students and integrate arts learning with your curriculum. Post-show classroom visits by the artists can also be included. Just ask!

COST: The cost of our assemblies ranges from:  $1,000 - $1,500 for 1 performance / $1,200 - $1,700 for 2 back-to-back performances
*Travel Fees may apply for performers or schools outside SC County.
