Witness culture, tradition, identity, and geography through a dazzling variety of world dance and music. And you don't even need a visa! Experience the beauty of our world on the Magic Carpet. Featuring dance and music from Ukraine, Argentina, Mexico, Congo.
Tuesday, April 11th - Ka-Hon Latin Percussion Ensemble
Join Ka-Hon on an adventure in Latin percussion through traditional rhythms and songs from Peru, Mexico, Cuba, Spain and Venezuela in this highly interactive and engaging performance. Featuring Bay Area artists: Jose Roberto Hernandez, Pedro Rosales, and Grammy Award Winners: Omar Ledezma, Jr., Javier Cabanillas, and Braulio Barrera.
Thursday, May 4th - Step Right Up!
Concentration and attention to detail are what make each circus act inspirational. With artful physical feats of strength and flexibility, juggling, illusions and rhythmic gymnastics, audiences are brought into the wonder that is all around us. Circus is a way of helping us see the extraordinary in the ordinary.
COST: Thanks to our donors, we can offer Santa Cruz County schools $2 tickets for our shows at the Mello Center. *We encourage you to apply for a SPECTRA matching grant to assist with the program cost. Applications are due by Sept. 2nd, and can cover half of your total cost.

Mello Center Field Trips - Overview
Every year, Tandy Beal & Company presents award-winning artists in music, circus and dance at the gracious Mello Center in Watsonville, CA. Because of the size and proximity of the theater, these concerts make an easy and outstanding field trip for neighborhood schools. With 750 seats, the theater can easily accommodate a school-wide field trip. Children receive a theater-going experience with highly acclaimed artists. Past artists have included: Micha Scott Dances!, SoVoSo, Linda TIllery, Keith Terry and more!
Tandy Beal & Company provides pre-concert materials and study guides to help you prepare your students and integrate arts learning with your curriculum. Each concert has elements of interactivity for maximum student engagement.
ArtSmart In-School Assemblies
Professional award-winning Bay Area artists perform at your school! Each concert has elements of interactivity for maximum student engagement. Tandy Beal & Company also provides pre-concert materials and study guides to help you prepare your students and integrate arts learning with your curriculum. Post-show classroom visits by the artists can also be included. Just ask!
COST: The cost of our assemblies is: $1,000 for 1 performance / $1,200 for 2 back-to-back performances
